Learn Italian Manchester will be what is known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect basic personal data about you which does not include any special types of information or location based information. This does however include your name, email address and telephone number.

Why we need your data

We will require your name, email address and telephone number in order to send you information about our Italian classes and one to one lessons, and if you choose to study Italian with us to keep in touch with you regarding lesson dates and times, and to forward learning materials to you. We will not collect any personal data from you which is not required in order to provide and oversee this service to you.

What we do with your data

By providing your contact details in an enquiry to us you give your express consent to receive marketing communications from us about our services in order to answer your query. Your data is not added to any mailing lists or shared with others (with the exception of our 3rd party IT providers as outlined below), and you will not receive further communications from us should you choose not to study with us.

If you become a student of Learn Italian Manchester then your data will be used to keep in touch with you regarding lesson dates and times, to forward learning materials to you and details of any events being run by us. Your personal data will not be shared with any third parties except as outlined below.

All the personal data we process is processed by Learn Italian Manchester in the UK however we use a selected 3rd party IT provider (Google Gmail) to process email. While information processed by the above provider may be located on servers outside the European Union, they are signed up to the international ‘Privacy Shield Framework’ which commits to the same standards as those set by the GDPR in the EU.

We may share personal data with law enforcement or other authorities, if required by applicable law.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to us over the internet; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

How long we keep your data

Where you made an initial enquiry, we will use this information purely to reply to your enquiry and delete it after 12 months should you decide not to study with us. Should you wish your information to be deleted before that time you can email us at hello@learnitalianmanchester.co.uk to request this.

If you become a student of or purchase products or services from Learn Italian Manchester, we are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (e.g. name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed.
