About the course
My next Online Beginners Italian Course starts on Tuesday 16th April 2024, 6.35-7.35pm
Classes start with an initial 10 weeks course, then continue in 10 week blocks.
This course is for you if you are a complete beginner and have no or very little knowledge of Italian.
My courses are small, friendly and in addition to learning Italian we have lots of fun! I get to know all my students and like to tailor lessons so that you can learn Italian words and phrases for topics which interest you, for example holiday, art, food, shopping.
What will I learn?
- Speak Italian confidently and comfortably in everyday situations
- Understand what’s being said back to you.
- Go from complete beginner to building your own sentences.
- Build a solid base vocabulary of words and phrases you can use immediately
- Understand and use Italian grammar with ease
- Understand the structure of the Italian language

- Greet the locals when you are in Italy

How much does it cost?

Where will the course take place?
The course will be delivered online via Zoom, and the zoom link will be shared with you at the start of the course..
If the idea of zoom brings to mind boring work meetings with 30+ people, being constantly 'on mute' and passively listening to other people droning on, my courses couldn't be further from this! My classes are small, very interactive and everyone gets time to practice. We do our learning together and it's lots of fun.

What do you need to start the course?
Textbooks - Before the course starts, I recommend you get copies of the following textbooks:

Zoom - I run my Italian courses via zoom. If you don't already use zoom, you can set up your zoom account and install zoom on the device you plan to use in advance of the course. You can download Zoom here from the official Zoom website.
Other frequently asked questions
Why do I need to pay to reserve a place?
The classes are small, so paying a deposit (or the full course fee if it's within a few weeks of the course starting) is a good way to make sure you have reserved a place on the course, and also for me to know you are committed to studying with me.
What happens if the course doesn't go ahead?
It's extremely rare that I would have to cancel a course, but in the unlikely event this was to happen I would provide a full refund of your deposit/course fee.
What happens if I miss a lesson or a few lessons?
There is always somebody in a group class that will miss a lesson or two, due to for example a holiday, illness. I offer to record the lesson and take notes and share it all on the Beginner Italian WhatsApp group, so you don't miss out and can catch up.
Please consider your availability to attend and any other commitments when deciding to book a place on the course, as the course fee is non-refundable once your place is fully booked.
Do you offer any discounts?
I offer a 10% discount for couples and friends booking places on the course together, and also 10% for university students. Please contact me to arrange this.
Do you offer private 1:1 lessons?
In addition to group classes, I also teach students 1:1 via Zoom. Some of my students have both 1:1 lessons as well as being part of a group class, to help speed up their learning. Please contact me for details at hello@learnitalianmanchester.co.uk
