Ciao a tutti,
It’s true. I love Nutella. It’s my guilty pleasure. Just like any other italian.. I grew up with this fantastic chocolate and hazelnut spread. I happen to come from the region that invented it so the more reason to celebrate the World Nutella day 5th Feb 2013!
I grew up watching Nutella TV adverts saying: “Nutella cose buone dal mondo” because it’s made with natural products and I personally can’t get enough of it. Coming back from school before doing my homework, I’d stop watch my favourite cartoon and have a slice of crusty bread with Nutella. To this day..it’s still my favourite chocolate treat.
When I’m not teaching Italian in South Manchester: Chorlton and Didsbury, I like to cook and bake. My students can tell you.. I often spoil them with cakes! Here’s a few inspirations to celebrate the World Nutella day today:
Here’s my recipe for Nutella cookies. It’s easy!!!! Facilissima
- 3 level tablespoons of nutella
- Grated orange rind (optional)
- 50g caster sugar
- 3 level tbsp soft brown sugar
- 50g butter
- 1 egg beaten
- 100g self raising flour
Method
1. Mix the nutella, butter, orange rind (if using), sugars and butter together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
2. Add the beaten egg and flour to make a fairly firm mixture. 3, using your hands roll the mixture into balls and then place them on an ungreased baking sheet
4. Flatten out the cookies with your hands
5. Bake at 180c (350 f) gas mark 4 for about 25 minutes until cooked
If you got time you can bake some cute cupcakes like these ones.. buonissimi!
