We have another fabulous dialogue written by one of my students from Didsbury. She’s dreaming of visiting Venice (aren’t we all??)
Learn Italian and practice how to introduce yourself, ask for directions in Italian and order a drink at one of the many Italian cafes. Learn Italian in Didsbury and be a tourist in Italy in a short space of time! Well done Ewa!
In this dialogue we have:
Veronica: studente – Inglese
Marco: guida turistica – Croato
Cameriera: Italiana
Veronica comes to Venice and wants to visit the Accademia. She approaches a man and asks for directions.
Veronica: Scusi, dove si trova l’Accademia? E’ lontana?
Marco: Si, abbastanza lontana. Io vado in quella direzione. Perche’ non andiamo insieme?
Veronica: Grande idea! Come ti chiami?
Marco: Mi chiamo Marco. E tu?
Veronica: Mi chiamo Veronica.
Marco: Sei in vacanza a Venezia?
Veronica: Si, sono venuta per due settimane. Di dove sei?
Marco: Sono Croato. Io lavoro qui ogni estate. Sono una quida turistica.
Veronica: Sei fortunato.
Marco: E tu? Sei una studentessa o sei una professionista?
Veronica: Sono studente. Io studio storia dell’arte all’Universita di Manchester.
Marco: Che interessante. Vuoi un caffe’ per strada?
Veronica: Si, perche’ no.
They go for a coffee.
Cameriera: Buonasera. Desidera?
Veronica: Un cappuccino e una pasta per favore.
Cameriera: Va bene, e lei?
Marco: Un espresso e una fetta di torta al limone. Quant’e in tutto?
Cameriera: 15 euro per il caffe, 4.50 euro per la pasta e 5 euro per la torta. 24.50 euro in totale.
Marco: Eccola. Grazie. Arrivederci.
Veronica: Arrivederci.
They go out and walk towards The Accademia.
Marco: Siamo sul posto. Questa e’ la Accademia.
Veronica: Grazie. E’stato un piacere conoscerti.
Marco: Anche te. Stammi bene. Ciao.
Veronica: Ciao.
