Ciao a tutti, today’s express Italian language class is about common expressions which are used in everyday’s life in Italy and the equivalent in English.
Trovar pane per i tuoi denti
It roughly translates into: “to meet your match”
When you’re trying to do something or you’re trying to put your point across in a discussion and somebody is strongly opposing or making it difficult for you to get what you want, in Italy we would tell you: “Hai trovato pane per i tuoi denti!”
The question is: Why Bread and not something else? Who knows? Chissa’!
