Buongiorno a tutti,
The sun is shining in Manchester today! Che bello!! And I thought we’ll start the day with something light and fun.
Italian word of the day: Sghignazzare
Ok it’s an Italian verb but I couldn’t resist. It’s tricky to pronounce
[ʃghi-gnaz-zà-re] /zgiɲɲatˈʦaːre/
Today’s Parola del Giorno is the intransitive verb, sghignazzare, which means to laugh loudly and giggle. The past participle is sghignazzato. Avere is used in compound tenses. You can see the verb used in its context below:
Ho sghignazzato cosi tanto quando ho visto “The Office ” su Netflix.
I have laughed/giggled so much when I watched “The Office” on Netflix.
I speak 5 European languages and know how hard it is to take the language challenge and persue it, but the joy that comes from being able to communicate effectively in a foreign language, the friends you’ll make and maybe the job/life changing opportunity you will encounter will make the studying effort worth while, believe me!
So if you like Italian and have always wanted to learn to speak a foreign language, why not learn in a friendly and relaxed environment?
